Benjie Dela Peña

Urban Planner

My name is Benjie de la Peña. I run Agile City and consult for cities and city leaders. I also write Makeshift Mobility, an e-newsletter about informal transportation. I was the Chief of Strategy and Innovation for the Seattle Department of Transportation, and I’ve worked with cities around the world on bus rapid transits, informality, technology, and innovation. In the 1990s, I taught high school in St. Scholastica's College in Manila. Everyday, it would take me two hours (each way), by bus and jeep, to get from Fairview to Malate. Things have only gotten worse since and they won’t get better till our commuters get a voice. Move As One is that voice.
