Keisha Mayuga

Cyclists

I'm Keisha and I bike! I'm also an Environmental and Urban Planner clamoring for protected bike networks and safer streets.

My dream is simple: I want to live in a city where my future kids can bike to school and my elderly parents can walk to a park. I used to think it was only possible in other countries, but I believe we can do this for the Philippines.

Before the pandemic, people thought I was "unconventional" for biking to work every day. Now as we move within the quarantine, thousands of people are starting to cycle and we have to make it safer - not just for cyclists, but all road users.

If you want to help make our cities safer for cycling, go to your local LGUs and ask what you can do to help put up protected bike lanes. If you're a cyclist yourself, help our new bike commuters out in any way you can (teach them how to bike, make some repairs, etc.)

Let's make the world safer with less wheels and more kindness.
